Information for Applicants

We apologize for the difficulty you and/or your letter writer have experienced. We encourage you to continue to follow up with your letter writers and our office to ensure that your application is complete. You may want to share this information or a link to this page with your letter writers, if they encounter difficulty with using our online system.

We hope that the following trouble shooting tips will be helpful:

• Your letter writer's name and email must be listed in your application in order for the letter to be uploaded.
• Remember you can re-send the email to your recommender from within your application by clicking the icon next to their name on the Letters of Recommendation page.
• If your letter is submitted by email, it will not show up in your online application as "received" until after you have submitted your application. Remember that you will have access to this portion of your application after submission
• Do not wait until all your supporting documents have been received to submit your application. Please submit your application as soon as you are finished with the body - you will be able to log back in to follow up/ edit your transcript and letter sections, and by submitting your application you enhance our ability to assist you with any outstanding letters.

Information for Letter Writers

If you didn't receive an email from our online system:
Email from our system is sometimes tagged as SPAM. Be sure to check your SPAM folder(s). You can request that the applicant re-send the email from the Letter of Recommendation section of their application.

Submitting letters for more then one applicant to our program: Please note that you may need to "log out" of the system after submitting each letter, in order for the next link to open properly.

Problems with the display or function of the system:
Users have reported a greater number of problems when using Internet Explorer browser. Firefox, Safari, Google work well with this or our system.

Finally, we are happy to provide direct assistance in uploading your recommendation: If you prefer this option, please email a PDF copy of your recommendation along with the name of the student to our program office at
amgenscholars@ berkeley.edu . We will confirm receipt by email to you, and request any additional information that is needed.
